about me

Lola Young, LMT RYT

As a native New Yorker with a love for nature, I navigated the concrete jungle from the corporate world into a quest of health & wellness.

After years of brand & event marketing in a fast-paced environment, it became clear when it was no longer aligned with my body or mind.  I courageously took a leap away to tune into what I needed to do for my own personal growth.  It was time to feed my heart and explore my curiosity of the human body -- the beauty of its functions and movement -- and to transform this knowledge to help others.

For over 18 years I have studied numerous eastern and western therapeutic massage techniques and work with everyone from newborn to elderly.  I specialize in Arvigo Therapy® and CranioSacral Therapy and find they are beneficial for everyone.  Additionally, I am a Registered Yoga Teacher, a Feminine Movement Instructor and a Certified Sound Practitioner.  I carry a deep passion for connecting and honoring the masculine & feminine in everything for a natural balance in all aspects of life.

I believe that self-care is the key to healing on all levels and to achieve true personal freedom.

the art of bodywork

How does your body work?  How does my body work for you?  It is intuitive and based on what your body presents in the moment.  It is a collaboration and energetic dance of learning how to best achieve balance and homeostasis.
This is the art of bodywork.

An initial session is approximately 90 minutes to review your health history and provide a thorough assessment.

Follow up sessions can be either 60 or 90 minutes depending on your needs.

Highlighted below are just a few modalities that I have studied in depth for over 14 years and incorporate into my bodywork sessions.

Aromatherapy is the use of essential oils from plants for healing.  Essential oils are concentrated extracts taken from the roots, leave, seeds, or blossoms of plants.  These highly therapeutic oils help to relieve pain, improve mood, and promote a sense of relaxation.

the arvigo techniques of maya abdominal therapy®

The Arvigo Techniques of Maya Abdominal Therapy® are founded on the ancient Mayan technique of abdominal massage to address the health and balance of the pelvic and abdominal organs to help improve the flow of blood, lymph, nerve and chi.  Developed by Dr. Rosita Arvigo over the course of thirty years of training and 10 years apprenticeship with her mentor, a great Maya shaman of Belize, Don Elijio Panti.  This technique is beneficial for women, men and children.

cranio-sacral therapy + somato-emotional release

CranioSacral Therapy is a gentle technique that releases tension deep in the body to relieve pain and dysfunction and improve whole-body health and performance.  Every experience each body encounters is stored on some level and trauma can be held in tissues and cells for prolonged period until it is given the opportunity to release.

A refined touch and awareness of the energy channels encourages the body to restore its delicate rhythm and find balance within itself.  CST & SER are highly effective for chronic headaches, neck, shoulder, back, hip and TMJ discomfort.
